A Collection Of Bible Verses For Exam Stress

Exam season can be one of the most stressful periods for young people, especially those under and around the age of 18 taking your SATs, GCSEs, A Levels or first set of degree-level exams.

The late nights spent reading your study guides cover to cover, the early mornings annotating and cramming before class, and then the intense and terrifying act of actually sitting down in front of your exam paper and hoping that all the knowledge you’ve absorbed over the last academic year flows out of you in a coherent way!

Yep. Exams are stressful. Not to mention everything around the exams themselves; the tiredness, the brain fog, the anxiety, and how difficult it is to maintain relationships during this time. Many of us just want to hide away, only to return once the last exam is complete!

However, there is hope and the bible provides us with advice & guidance around how to manage our thoughts, feelings and relationships when experiencing periods of intense stress and anxiety. Here is a collection of bible verses for exam stress.

Bible Verses For Exam Stress

Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

This bible passage encourages us to pray and give thanks during times of stress and anxiety, putting our trust in God. Essentially, we’re told to turn anxiety into prayer to receive peace and guard our hearts.

James 1:5: If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

You can always rely on God to support and guide you during difficult times, for God gives generously to all of us. This passage encourages asking God for generosity and clarity when you lack wisdom or face difficult study topics.

Matthew 6:34: Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own trouble is sufficient.

This bible verse tells us not to be anxious for tomorrow, to live in the moment and enjoy life day by day, which also reminds us to trust in God and the path he has created for each of us.

Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Here, God makes us some important promises:

  1. He is with you
  2. He will strengthen you
  3. He will help you
  4. He will uphold you

So, when life gets difficult and exam stress is getting you down, God will be with you to help you, strengthen you and uphold you. You are never alone when you walk with God.

There’s No Magic Solution to Exam Stress (Or Success)

Whilst there’s no magic solution to exam stress, or success!, it’s important to remember that, during the most challenging periods of your life – exams included – God will be with you, and you can always turn to God for support, help and guidance.

Hold on to this: God loves you as his child and wants you to succeed. He will never abandon you in your time of need.

And, if the exam stress gets too much, please talk to your parents, guardians or trusted loved ones who will be happy to help you wherever and however they can, even if it means simply giving you a hug.
